O'Brien Library is Now WiFi-Ready
Beginning this semester, students, faculty and other researchers with WiFi-ready laptops may access the Internet. WiFi, the latest feature added to the library's many facilities and services. With laptops, handhelds and other portable gaming devices, the net can now be accessed wireless, or without plugging in to a phone socket or cable to avail of WiFi. You must, however, have the right devices and equipment.
Before one can access WiFi, he or she must first register at the ground floor counter of the library for monitoring and statistical purposes. A user is given a "wireless access card" upon registration. The card should be returned immediately after use to facilitate monitoring of the service, for further improvement and development. This will also decongest the number of users in the Student Internet Center.
Access to the wireless network is on a first-come-first-served basis. Members of the ADNU community and other patrons, who have their own laptop computer, may avail of the service. Outside reserchers who want to avail of the service are, however, asked to pay the prescribed amount at the Information Desk for this Wi-Fi service. Until further notice, a maximum of four (4) hours a day is allowed for the use of this particular service.
