Ateneo de Naga University attended the 6 th ANNUAL KDC MEETING of the The World Bank in Ortigas Business Center , Pasig City , Philippines last 23-26 April 2007.

The retreat is an annual gathering of the heads of World Bank partner institutions to assess what has been done and plan further interventions in the area of knowledge development and sharing.

The university was represented by Mr. Renne Gumba, Institute of Politics Director, University Librarian Ms. Edna San Buenaventura, and the Chairperson of the University Social Involvement Council, Atty. Miles Raquid-Arroyo.

An ORIENTATION SESSION on what the World Bank is all about, including its structure and programs, was conducted for those who are joining the retreat for the first time. It was held in the Astoria Plaza Conference Room, 4pm, April 23.

A WELCOME DINNER was then hosted by theWorld Bank, wherein all the participants got to know each other. A lively program was held, with all the participating institutions contributing in the videoke competition. ADNU was wholeheartedly represented by Ms. Edna. The dinner was held April 23, 8pm, at the Astoria Plaza .

On the second day, April 24, ANTICORRUPTION AND GOOD GOVERNANCE DISCUSSION was undertaken at the World Bank Center , Taipan Bldg., in Ortigas Various presenters from government and non-government/private organizations provided assessment as well as updates on the state of Philippine governance and anti-corruption initiatives, including those which are supported by the Bank itself.
